A few words from the director:
With over
40 years of language teaching experience
behind me, I have discovered that while not one single textbook can suit all
students, qualified and experienced teachers can compensate for these
deficiencies in teaching materials.
Only with active and lively instruction and sufficient flexibility to respond to the varying needs of different students can the highest level of teaching effectiveness be achieved in other words, in language instruction, the importance of teachers¡¦ qualifications is far greater than the importance of textbooks.
Therefore, all of our teachers have specialized training in the teaching of Chinese to foreign students. They receive 40 hours of training over a three-month period. I personally conduct three training sessions.
During the 40 hours, they not only build up an ability to use basic teaching techniques, but also develop an accurate concept of what is involved in all phases of language teaching for the latter is the most important for being a successful language teacher.
