1. An application form.
2. The original and one photocopy of the passport. The original will be
returned after verification.
3. The following documents, as appropriate:
(1) Visiting relatives: a
household registration or the ARC of the relatives.
(2) Chinese language training: enrollment certificate and
class schedule from an approved public or private language center or
university.
Note: Record of attendance is not required for the initial application and the
first extension.
(3) Religious obligations or activities: letter of invitation
from religious institution.
(4) Employment: work permit issued by the relevant authorities.
(5) Medical treatment: documents from hospital.
(6) Other: certificates from relevant authorities.

The applicant shall apply for extension within ten days prior to the expiration of a
visitor visa. Limitations: (a) The duration of each
such extension shall not be longer than that of the original visa. (b) The holder of a visitor visa may
not exceed six months aggregate time in the country.

To clarify the purpose of the extension each applicant should supply additional supporting
documents.
